Jaguar Land Rover will support the standardization of technologies of Autonomous driving
Jaguar Land Rover has supported the initiative of the European Union for standardization and harmonization of technologies for automated driving in the automotive industry.
The British manufacturer has submitted to the EU Ministers of transport its range of demonstration vehicles equipped with Autonomous technology, including the autopilot system, the streets of Amsterdam.
The Ministers of 28 member countries of the European Union met to discuss the importance of legal and technical standardization and harmonization of test, sales, and responsibility in the context of Autonomous cars.
Dr Wolfgang Epple (Dr Wolfgang Epple), Director research and technology Jaguar Land Rover: “We are all working on technologies for Autonomous driving. In order to successfully implement them, car manufacturers, telecommunications providers and organizations responsible for road infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a common approach. Standardization and harmonization will allow the car most effectively and efficiently communicate with each other and with road infrastructure. Thus, Jaguar Land Rover will soon be able to introduce relevant technologies available and convenient for customers”.
